Crain Development was initiated in 2005 by Josh Crain. 

At the time Josh was working for IBM as a network security engineer. He had purchased his first home 2 year prior and was immersed in multiple remodeling projects. Growing up on a farm in Iowa and working part time during college as a carpenters apprentice he had some building skills. As he was working full time in the office, it was necessary to hire contractors to complete the ongoing projects. No surprise,  remodeling can be an expensive undertaking.  

Quality building practices are crucial regardless of the cost. Improper techniques can lead to major problems such as the homes structural integrity to future water issues. 

Josh felt he was paying a lot of money for an inferior product. Seizing the opportunity, Crain Development as born.
